The Dual Purpose of Literature Notes

Notes formed from reading others’ works should serve two purposes:

1. Help you understand what you are reading (Learning Requires Effort)
2. Serve as an interface between the material and the rest of your permanent notes

Those are the only two purposes. Literature notes should not be a project onto themselves.
