Do Not Make Literature Notes a Project

You need to take some form of literature note that captures your understanding of the text, so you have something in front of your eyes while you are making the slip-box note.

Literature notes serve permanent notes. There is no "literature note standard" that needs to be met. Some works will have more notes than others. It will depend on how much time you spend with the resource.

Time spent on the mechanics and thoroughness of literature notes takes away time from creating permanent notes and ultimately forming ideas.
